Allergy Policy
Your safety comes first
All 14 major allergens are handled in our kitchen, so we cannot guarantee any dish is completely free from allergens or traces of them. Please tell us about any allergy every time you order.
The 14 major allergens
Every one of these is used in our kitchen, and we mark them on every dish. Any other allergy or intolerance, such as garlic or onion, can be added in your account or at checkout.
Telling us about an allergy
Please tell us every time you order, even if you’ve had the dish before.
Save it to your account
In My Account → Account details. We’ll mark those allergens on the menu, warn you if your basket contains them, and fill them in at checkout. Change or remove them any time.
Add it at checkout
Use the Allergies for this order box, and include everyone you’re ordering for. It’s printed at the top of your order in our kitchen.
Call us if it’s severe
Unsure about a dish, or have a severe allergy? Call 01438 717499 before ordering and we’ll help you choose.
Ordering a day ahead? Ask for a special allergy request
With at least a day’s notice, we can try to make your order without the allergens you need to avoid.
Choose a later day
At checkout, pick tomorrow or a later day, list the allergens in the Allergies for this order box, and tick Special allergy request.
We check first
Our kitchen checks every ingredient and supplier label for your dishes, then confirms by phone or email, usually within 4 hours. Nothing is cooked until we’ve confirmed.
Made with extra care
We prepare your food separately before service, with cleaned equipment, and pack and label it on its own. If we can’t do it safely, we’ll tell you and refund you in full.
Please remember our kitchen handles all 14 allergens, so even with these steps we can’t promise your food is completely free from traces. We take a small number of requests each day, so please ask early.
Reading our menu
Everything you need to choose safely is on the menu.
Allergens on every dish
Open any dish to see exactly which allergens it contains.
The Filters button
Tick anything you avoid. Matching dishes are clearly marked, never hidden.
Diet badges V
These describe the ingredients we use. They don’t mean the dish was made in an allergen-free area.
On request VG
A dashed badge means we can make it that way. Mention it in your order.
Good to know
Tap a question to open it.
Dishes that change daily
Some dishes, like our chef’s selection of dips, change from day to day. They show every allergen they might contain. Tell us your allergy and we’ll choose dips to suit.
Buffets and catering
Please give us your guests’ allergies and dietary needs when you book, and no later than three days before the event, so we can plan and label the food. Buffet dishes are served together, so guests with severe allergies should speak to us about a separately packed meal.
Drinks
Bottled drinks are sold as supplied by the maker. Please check the label for allergens such as gluten (in beer) and sulphites (in cider and wine).
When your order arrives
Please check your food on collection or delivery, and call us straight away if anything looks wrong.
How we look after your allergy information
Allergy details are health information, so we only save them to your account when you tick the consent box. We use them only to warn you and to tell our kitchen, never for marketing. A copy is kept with each order so the kitchen can prepare it safely. See our Privacy Policy.
